Troubleshooting

Known issues and fixes

Start with the newest game update, then match your problem to the recovery step listed on this page.

Update the game before troubleshooting.

Most launch problems below were fixed between patches 1.1.38 and 1.1.45. Old workarounds should not be your first step.

Do this first

  1. Close Moonlight Peaks completely.
  2. Let Steam finish the newest update.
  3. If the problem remains: Steam → Library → Moonlight Peaks → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity.
  4. Advance one in-game day only when the matching fix below requires it.
Do not exit while the game is saving. Patch 1.1.44 fixed a corruption issue caused by exiting during a save, but waiting is still the safe habit.

Match your problem

Fixed in 1.1.45

“Recover the Moon” quest will not continue

What to do: Update the game, load the affected save and start the next in-game day. The official note says blocked players should automatically proceed to the next quest.
Fixed in 1.1.45

“Back to the Den” achievement did not unlock

What to do: Update, load the completed save and advance one in-game day. The patch applies the achievement retroactively.
Fixed in 1.1.41

Controller or Steam Deck inputs stop responding

What to do: Update and restart first. If the issue remains, verify game files and report the controller model, connection type and platform.
Improved through 1.1.45

Freezes, stutter or slowdown around the farm

What to do: Update, restart after patching and test the same area. Later patches fixed memory leaks and several heavy-farm performance cases.
Addressed in 1.1.41–1.1.44

Save is missing, fails to load or was corrupted

What to do: Update before loading again. Do not overwrite or delete the affected save; keep Steam Cloud and local backups intact.
Fixed in 1.1.44

Crops did not grow during rainy nights

What to do: This was a bug, not an intended farming rule. Update to a build containing patch 1.1.44 or later.
Fixed in 1.1.41–1.1.44

House upgrade caused storage loss or loading problems

What to do: Update before performing or loading around a house upgrade, and keep the game open until saving finishes.
Fixed in 1.1.45

Loveage Gift Exchange soft lock

What to do: Update before retrying the event. If the save remains trapped, restart the current day only after confirming the newest patch is installed.
